'Magic Cape' was inspired by my personal response to our overwhelming waste problems. The project reflects my attitude and commitment to finding creative solutions to these issues.

 

I collected dumped and unwanted clothes from the recycling centre. I sewed them together, assembling colours that represent our nature, such as sky, soil, sea, forest, and flowers. The patched fabric cover will hide our waste to avoid confronting the current problem. It will pretend itself as a colourful object in the far distance. But it is made of waste materials and covers more waste goods underneath. It is like we sweep something under the carpet.

 

I am still questioning, ‘What is the right direction in the art context to contribute to our sustainable environment? '
